- ref: ID for anchor. By default, anchors are always generated. The ordinary nonempty value
|ref=IDgenerates an anchor with the given ID; such a linkable reference can be made the target of Wikipedia:Citing sources/Further considerations#Wikilinks to full references|wikilinks to full references]], especially useful in short citations like Wikipedia:Citing sources#Shortened footnotes|shortened notes]] and Wikipedia:Parenthetical referencing|parenthetical referencing]].
