  1. Switch to the GIS module.
  2. Enable ArcObjects (optional).
  3. Load shapefiles using the Add Shapefile Data command or Add Data command.
  4. Load additional data, such as MIF/MID files using the Add MIF/MID File Data command.
  5. Load GIS layer data using the Join Table to Layer command.
