Expand1. Create a TUFLOW 1D Cross Section coverage.

Create a new coverage with the TUFLOW "1D Cross Section" type. Expand1. Create new coverage from scratch. Select Map Data in the Project Explorer and use the New Coverage right-click command. Use the New Coverage dialog to create a new coverage by selecting the desired coverage type, and naming the coverage. Expand2. Create new coverage from an existing coverage. Use the Duplicate command on an existing coverage. This will copy any feature objects on the coverage. Use the Rename command to give the coverage a new name. Change the coverage type.

Expand2. Generate cross sections.

Any of the following can be used to generate cross sections. Expand1. Import cross section database. Right-click on the 1D cross section coverage in Project Explorer and select Properties. Use the CsDb Management dialog to import a cross section database. Expand2. Manually create cross sections. Select the Create Feature Arc tool and click out cross section arcs. Right-click on the 1D cross section coverage in Project Explorer and select Extract from Scatter to assign elevation to cross sections. Expand3. Generate cross sections from network coverage. Right-click on the 1D network coverage in the Project Explorer and select the Create Cross Section Arcs command. Define cross sections in Create Cross Section Arcs dialog. Use the Select Feature Node or Point tool to clean up cross sections. Right-click on the 1D cross section coverage in Project Explorer and select Extract from Scatter to assign elevation data to cross sections.
