FEMWATER Transport Model Workflow

Transport modeling can be added to a FEMWATER model.

To include transport modeling in an existing FEMWATER model, include the following steps:

Expand1. Begin with an existing FEMWATER project.
The existing model can be created using the FEMWATER flow model.

Expand2. Turn on transport options.

Expand1. Turn on the conceptual model transport option. Right-click on the FEMWATER conceptual model and select the Properties menu command. Turn on the Transport option in the Conceptual Model Properties dialog. Expand2. Turn on the coverage transport option. Right-click on the FEMWATER coverage and select the Coverage Setup menu command. Turn on the Transport BC option in the Coverage Setup dialog.

Expand3. Define the boundary conditions.

Expand1. Assign boundary conditions to arcs. Using Select Arc tool, right-click on the arc and select the Attributes Table command. Define the boundary condition properties in the Attributes Table dialog. Expand2. Assign boundary conditions to nodes. Using the Select Point/Node tool, right-click on the node and select the Attributes Table command. Define the boundary condition properties in the Attributes Table dialog.

Expand4. Map the model.
Select the conceptual model. Select Feature Objects | Map → FEMWATER. Select the appropriate options in the Map → Model dialog.

Expand5. Enter analysis options.

Expand1. Enter run options. Select the FEMWATER | Run Options menu command. Enter options in the FEMWATER Run Options dialog. Expand2. Define the geometry file. Select the FEMWATER | Geometry File menu command. Enter options in the Geometry File dialog. Expand3. Enter titles. Select the FEMWATER | Titles menu command. Enter options in the FEMWATER Geometry and Model Title Cards dialog. Expand4. Set initial conditions. Select the FEMWATER | Initial Conditions menu command. Enter options in the FEMWATER Initial Conditions dialog. Expand5. Set iteration parameters. Select the FEMWATER | Iteration Parameters menu command. Enter options in the FEMWATER Iteration Parameters dialog. Expand6. Define particle tracking parameters. Select the FEMWATER | Particle Tracking menu command. Enter options in the FEMWATER Particle Tracking dialog. Expand7. Set time controls parameters. (For transport modeling) Select the FEMWATER | Time Control menu command. Enter options in the FEMWATER Time Control dialog. Expand8. Select output control. Select the FEMWATER | Output Control menu command. Enter options in the FEMWATER Output Control dialog. Expand9. Define fluid process. Select the FEMWATER | Fluid Properties menu command. Enter options in the FEMWATER Fluid Properties dialog.
