There are multiple methods to define precipitation data. To define precipitation data, take one of the following steps:

1. Uniform Precipitation Method.
  1. Use Precipitation... under the GSSHA menu to enter the data for the rainfall event, intensity, duration, and start date/time.
  2. Enter the GSSHA job control parameters.
  3. Save and run the GSSHA model.
2. Using a Design Storm Hyetograph.
  1. Select Precipitation... under the GSSHA menu and define the distribution under the Hyetograph option.
  2. Save and run the GSSHA model.
3. Rain Gages with Inverse Distance Weighted.
  1. Create a Rain Gage coverage.
  2. Create gages in the Graphics Window by creating new points.
  3. Select one or more gages to define the rain gage properties.
  4. Save and run the GSSHA model.
4. Rain gages with the Thiessen Polygon Method.
  1. Select Precipitation... under the GSSHA menu and select Thiessen polygons as the interpolation method.
  2. Save and run the GSSHA model.
