To build an SRH-2D model in SMS, use the following steps:

3. Review and edit elevation data.
  1. Review and set object Projections.
  2. Remove erroneous points.
  3. Add breaklines.
  4. Merge datasets.
  5. Stamp new features (channel, roadway embankment, or other).
See also: Feature Stamping Workflow
4. Create SRH simulation components.
  1. Generate a Mesh Generator map coverage.
  2. Create a materials coverage
  3. Create a boundary conditions coverage
  4. Create a monitoring points coverage (optional)
  5. Create an obstructions coverage (optional)
5. SRH-2D simulation setup.
  1. Create new simulation.
  2. Add components to simulation.
  3. Set up Model Control parameters.
  4. Check the model.
  5. Simulation execution.
  6. Troubleshooting.
6. Review results.
  1. Open _XMDF file.
  2. Results layers.
  3. Observation lines.
  4. Summary table.
  5. Run the Plot Wizard.
  6. Data calculator.
7. Create additional simulations.
Additional simulations can be created that use different parameters.
  1. Create a new simulation and add existing components.
    1. Set new model parameters.
  2. Duplicate an existing simulation.
    1. Change the model parameters of simulation.
  3. Run the additional simulation.
  4. Compare results of multiple simulations.
